Benjamin Netanyahu
The Australian Liberal Party is making a huge mistake in supporting the monstrous Netanyahu far right government and implying that anyone who opposes this government is guilty of antisemitism. Netanyahu is corrupt and will do anything to stay in power. A majority of Israelis now oppose him. Shin Bet, one of the most effective intelligence agencies in the world, obviously knew about the October 7 attack in advance and would have warned Netanyahu. However he did not adequately strengthen the IDF defences or bother telling Hamas to cancel their attack as it was known about in advance. It would seem likely that he was prepared to allow those many Israeli casualties and hostages in order to promote his plan to virtually wipe out the Palestinian population so Israel could take the whole area of Gaza and exert further violence and control in the West Bank. The proposed new Israeli settlements would absolutely prevent the possibility of a two state solution. The current Israeli government is, in my view, as bad as Hamas.
